I've had 2 FPC units blow on my 1990 TTZ within a year time. After the second one blew I actually bypassed the unit altogether and run the fuel pump on constant 12V. It's been this way (still with the original fuel pump that I'm aware of) for the past 3.5 years or so. I've also done this mod to a couple other Z's as well without issue.
